Financial Aid

SOECA is committed to providing a Christ-centered educational program of excellence, and to making that program accessible to all qualified families who desire to attend. We recognize the cost of a Christian school education is a major commitment for families. Therefore, we allocate a significant amount of funds to our need-based financial aid program.

The following criteria must be met to be considered for financial assistance:

  • Financial assistance is available to both new and returning scholars for tuition only.
  • Financial assistance is not available for any optional programs (examples: Before/After School program, Meal Plan, Book, Technology, Athletic, and Fine Arts/Band fees).
  • For currently enrolled scholars, the tuition account must not be in arrears.
  • Currently, enrolled scholars must be in good standing academically and behaviorally.
  • New scholars must meet all admissions criteria and must be accepted for enrollment.
  • No more than 50% of tuition will be awarded to any one scholar through the financial aid program.
  • Financial aid is not available to scholars that currently receive any scholarship or assistance through SOECA or an outside vendor. (Examples: Georgia Promise Scholarship, SB-10 Scholarship, Arete Scholars, Pay It Forward Scholarship, or Employee/WOF discount.
  • Grantees must re-apply for financial aid each year.
  • An award of financial aid in one year does not imply that financial aid will be awarded in succeeding years, nor does it imply that the amount of aid granted will be the same in succeeding years.
  • The completion of the financial aid application is not a binding agreement that any assistance is available or will be granted.
  • An enrollment or re-enrollment contract must be completed prior to submission of an application for financial aid.
  • Families are to complete the FACTS “Grant & Aid Assessment” form. This may be completed online (https://online.factsmgt.com/aid). Sign-in using your existing FACTS Username and password or new families are invited to create a new account. Only one form per family needs to be completed each year.
  • All requested forms must be submitted to and verified by FACTS, including current year income tax returns, W-2 forms, and business tax returns, etc., before an application is considered.
  • The Financial Aid Committee reviews applications on an on-going basis. Your application must be in “verified” status with FACTS Grant & Aid before a determination is made. Early verified applications will receive priority review and award status.
  • Financial Aid Award notifications will be e-mailed to the applicant email address on the date awarded.
  • Financial aid acceptance must be electronically accepted within 7 days of the award notification, or the award may be revoked and the funds given to another scholar.
  • Funds are awarded on a need basis based on funds available. Once all budgeted funds are exhausted the application portal will be disabled.

Georgia Special Needs Scholarship (SB10)

Under a state law passed by the Georgia State Legislature in 2007, parents of students who receive special education services may request to transfer their child to another public or private school in Georgia provided that their child has an IEP and has been enrolled for a full academic year in a Georgia public school.

Parents who are interested in transferring their child to a private school in Georgia may be able to take advantage of a Georgia Special Needs Scholarship.  These scholarships provide funding that can be used to offset tuition costs at participating private schools in the state of Georgia.  For more information on the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship and the application process, please visit the Georgia Department of Education's website.

Parents may request a transfer to a SOECA and the application will be reviewed to confirm the school has a program with the services in the student’s existing individualized education program (IEP); and acceptance will depend on whether the setting is appropriate for the student’s needs.

Pay it Forward Scholarships provides scholarships for private pre-K through 12th grade students to attend any accredited private school in Georgia. Their mission is to give parents the freedom to choose the best educational environment for their child.
